Support for creating safer learning environments

At the British Council, the safety and well-being of learners and educators is a top priority. We are committed to helping our Partner Schools across the world foster a secure, inclusive, and respectful educational environment.

Why safeguarding matters

Every student and educator deserves a safe and supportive environment where they’re respected, protected and able to thrive. Our initiatives, guidance and practical resources, including our Global Safeguarding Toolkit developed with UNICEF, support your school and students. We take a whole-school approach to safeguarding, helping you implement and maintain the highest standards of welfare.

This comprehensive resource features practical templates, expert-led guidance, and engagement tools designed to embed safety into every layer of your institution. Already a Partner School? Access the Global Safeguarding Toolkit on the Online Support for Schools platform.

Not a Partner School yet? We invite you to explore our Global Safeguarding Starter Kit. It serves as an introduction to the full Safeguarding Toolkit and the support available through our Partner Schools Programme.
