Your exam day represents the culmination of your journey towards UK qualifications. Learn how to be well prepared so you can stay calm and confident on your exam day, and find out what to expect, to ensure a smooth experience.

Don’t forget your documents on exam day

The British Council has been administering school exams for over six decades and we have some advice and reminders for you to experience a successful exam day.

There are some important documents and materials that you will need to bring on the exam day and of course, you need to know about your exam dates, venues and times.

You must bring the following documents:

Graduation cap - Icon 03

A hard copy of your Statement of Entry (SoE)

award - Icon 54

A valid passport or National ID

The British Council will email you the Statement of Entry (SoE) and venue details, which you must print and bring on the exam day. Candidates without these documents will not be allowed to sit the exam.

Make sure you check the subject syllabus and Venue Letter so that you know what materials and stationary to bring to the exam. The British Council doesn’t provide any stationery for exams.

If you have a disability or specific need, please visit your local British Council website to see more information on making special arrangements. After your request is approved, please print the approval letter and bring it with you to the exam venue.
